Boys & Girls Clubs of Muncie accepting applications - and snack donations - for summer camp

MUNCIE, Ind. — Over the course of the summer, members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Muncie can go through more than 12,000 snacks; that's why the club is running a snack drive now through May 29.

Donations to the clubs' summer camp can be made by purchasing from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Muncie's Amazon Wishlist or by donating online at bgcmuncie.org/donate and typing SNACKS in the additional information, according to a release. Food donations for the snack drive can be dropped off at the Madison Street Unit. Anyone interested in becoming a partner or getting more information on how to donate should contact Amy Gibson, 765-282-4461.

The summer camp for club members in grades K-8 provides "a safe, fun and educational experience to ensure that they maintain their academic and personal growth during a period where it might be easy to lose some of what they learned during the school year," the release stated. Programs include college visits, museum tours and plenty of time outdoors. Summer camp will run June 8-July 22.

Online and in-person registration for camp is available now through June 3. In-person registration for summer camp will be at the Madison Street Unit 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.
