Boys lacrosse: Vote now for the lohud Player of the Week

Before we get into the pressure of playoffs, we're pausing to recognize some of the standouts from the final week of the regular season. It was a short week, but these players did work.

These are the finalists. See what they got done and vote for the player that deserves to be singled out. The poll will remain open until 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Joe Casarella, Suffern

The junior attackman has been full speed ahead since returning from injury. He gave the Mounties a 20-19 win over Tappan Zee in the regular-season finale when he scored his seventh goal of the game off a feed from Chris Fay with 1.4 seconds to play. Casarella also had a goal in a loss to Tenafly, N.J.

A.J. Delvito, Dobbs Ferry

The senior attackman became the program's all-time leading scoring with a second-quarter goal during a Senior Night win against Hasings. Delvito hadfive goals and three assists in the game. He added two goals and two assists in a loss to Edgemont, giving him 123 goals and 69 assists.

Jack Freel, Fordham Prep

The junior attackman helped the Rams close out the regular season with four straight wins, getting six goals and two assists in an 11-9 win over Long Island Lutheran and six goals and three assists in a 17-9 win over St. Joseph's Metuchen, N.J.

Andrew Girolamo, Stepinac

The junior attackman was busy as the Crusaders played four games last week. He scored three goals in a loss to Briarcliff, got five goals and four assists in a win over Newtown, Conn., netted four goals in a loss to Wheaton (Ill.) Academy and had five goals in a win over Montclair (N.J.) Kimberly Academy.

Tommy Linehan, Tappan Zee

The freshman attackman grew up a little more while reigning player of the year Sean Berrigan was out of the lineup. Linehan delivered eight goals and two assists in a 16-7 win over Nanuet then collected six goals and two assists in a 20-19 loss to Suffern.

Fin McConnell, Kennedy Catholic

The sophomore attackman helped the Gaels finish with an undefeated league record. He scored three times in a 6-5 win over Fox Lane, had six goals and two assists in a win over Xaverian and closed the week with two goals and two assists over CHSAA rival Monsignor Farrell.

Chris Patterson, Bronxville

The junior attackman scored five goals in the fourth quarter to bring the Broncos back from a three-goal deficit, then set up the overtime game-winner sending Bronxville into the playoffs with a 10-9 win at Briarcliff.
