Boys soccer: Vote now for the lohud player of the week

Get your thumbs ready.

We're huddling up each Monday to highlight some of the best performances of the previous week. Please take a moment to evaluate what each finalist accomplished, then vote for the athlete you believe is most deserving of a special shoutout. The poll closes at 2 p.m. on Tuesday and the winner will be celebrated on our social media accounts.

Previous winners are Nico Galeano of Scarsdale, Johnathan Mendieta of Peekskill, Gael Baraldi of White Plains, Colin Waring of Mahopac and Daniel Santos of New Rochelle.

Jake Acosta, Clarkstown North

The senior midfielder helped the Rams clinch a playoff berth, getting one goal and two assists in a win over Arlington B and one goal in a win over Spring Valley.

Saba Baratashvili, Suffern

The junior forward netted the first goal of the match then answered with another when North Rockland got on the board, helping the Mounties get a 5-4 overtime upset.

Tommy Broderick, Rye

The junior forward handed out three assists in a win over John Jay-Cross River, scored all six goals in a win over rival Harrison and dished one more assist in a win over Pelham.

Brandon Dhanoolal, Irvington

The junior forward recorded one assist in a win over Pearl River, two goals and one assist in a win over Albertus Magnus and four goals and three assists in a home-and-home set against Yonkers Montessori.

Ellison Garcia, Lincoln

The junior midfielder was hyperactive during the Lancers' 3-2 win over Gorton in the Yonkers City Championship, finishing with a goal and two assists.

Brady Jacobs, Tappan Zee

The sophomore striker had two goals in a win over Nyack, helping the Dutchmen clinch a league title, and one goal and one assist in a win over Pearl River that punctuated the first undefeated regular season in program history.

Kender Louisthelmy, Spring Valley

The senior goalkeeper who moved into the net for the first time at the beginning of the season, had seven saves in a loss to Clarkstown South, three saves in a shutout win over Arlington B, five saves in a shutout win over Lincoln and five saves in a loss to Clarkstown North.

Daniel Martinez, Roosevelt

The senior striker had a goal in a 2-0 win over Leffell, two goals in a 9-0 win over Yonkers and an assist in a 3-1 win over Yonkers Montessori.

Marcus Nahim, Iona Prep

The senior forward delivered three goals in the last five minutes of a 3-2 win over Regis. He also had two goals in a win over Fordham Prep and a hat trick in a win over Holy Cross.

Zach Nudel, Clarkstown South

The junior midfielder helped the Vikings grab a share of a league title, getting three goals in a win over Spring Valley, one goal and one assist in a win over Ramapo and one goal and one assist in a win over North Rockland.

Matt Pozo, Yorktown

The senior striker delivered five goals and three assists in wins over Harrison, Brewster and John Jay-Cross River, helping the Huskers close out the regular season undefeated.

Christian Thewes, Rye Neck

The senior forward scored both goals in a homecoming win over Pleasantville, sending the Panthers into the Section 1 tournament with a 7-3-4 mark.
