The Boys spin-off Gen V has landed a release window.

It's official Twitter page appeared to troll fans earlier this year by revealing it would premiere sometime between January and December 31, 2023, but Prime Video has now confirmed Gen V will arrive on the platform in September.

A specific release date will be revealed at a later time, possibly when the show's final trailer drops.

Described as "part college show, part Hunger Games," Gen V stars Jaz Sinclair, Lizze Broadway, Chance Perdomo, Shelley Conn, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann and Patrick Schwarzenegger as students at the Godolkin University for Supes.

The series is set to explore the lives of these "hormonal, competitive Supes as they put their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the best contracts in the best cities".

Seth Rogen, who serves as an executive producer for The Boys and its upcoming spin-off, recently teased that Gen V will be even more "shocking" than the flagship series.

"Gen V has some really crazy shit in it. The fact that they're in college, they're a little younger, makes it more shocking maybe," he revealed in an interview with Empire Magazine.

"In general, if you're making an R-rated thing, they let you do whatever you want, unless there's some real legal thing that they think you might be bumping against."

Gen V might be more "shocking", but Simon Pegg has said the upcoming fourth season of The Boys will be the craziest yet.

"You know how crazy The Boys is? It's gonna get crazier. I had so much fun on that show," he told Collider.

The Boys seasons 1-3 are streaming on Prime Video. Season 4 is in production.
