The Boys season two spoilers follow.

If you were hoping to see Stormfront show up in The Boys' upcoming third season, don't get too excited.

As a reminder, the season two finale of the Amazon Prime Video series saw the electro-powered supervillain's arms and legs get blown up by heat vision, and it left her fate on the show open to question.

However, even though Stormfront is immortal, and the new episodes are currently shooting, Aya Cash – the actress who plays her – has admitted that she's still waiting to find out if she's returning.

"I want to know if she'll be back, too," she told Entertainment Weekly.

"I'm not there now. I'm on a new Fox show now called This Country. My contract for The Boys was only for a year, so who knows? Maybe they can CGI my face in."

Still, Cash – and fans – shouldn't give up hope entirely that Stormfront might return. Speaking last year, showrunner Eric Kripke insisted that the character could still have a future on the series.

"She's not dead," he said. "Among the writers and talking with Aya, we're like, 'Well, what is going to happen to Stumpfront?' So we'll see."

And even if The Boys isn't in Aya Cash's future, the US remake of BAFTA-winning BBC mockumentary This Country certainly sounds promising.

Coming from Bridesmaids director Paul Feig, it will also star Lethal Weapon's Seann William Scott, Kim Possible's Taylor Ortega and What We Do in the Shadows star Justin Linville.

The Boys seasons 1 and 2 are available to watch in full on Amazon Prime Video. Season 3 is yet to get a premiere date.
