Boys tennis: Minnewaska senior ends up fourth at state
Jun. 11—MINNEAPOLIS — Minnewaska's Tate Reichmann wound up in fourth place in the state Class A boys tennis tournament, losing two matches on Friday at the Reed-Sweatt Family Tennis Center.
Reichmann lost to Evan Fraser of Mounds Park Academy in the semifinals. The scores were 6-2, 6-7 (4), 6-1.
Reichmann then played Marjan Veldic of Rochester Lourdes in the third-place match. Veldic prevailed 6-4, 4-6, 10-7.
Isaac Maddock of Osakis won the state Class A title by beating Fraser in the final, 6-3, 6-1.
In doubles play, Dylan Hahn and Jack Onkka of Thief River Falls won the state title by beating Ethan Leeser and Frederick Suhler of Rochester Lourdes, 7-6 (4), 6-7 (5), 6-3.
Andy Stevenson and AJ Helmer of Friday took third by beating Leo Benson and Maik Nguyen of St. Paul Academy and Summit School 7-6 (7), 6-2.
