Boys Tennis: Watertown drops indoor dual against Sioux Falls Washington

Sioux Falls Washington notched an 8-1 victory over Watertown in a high school boys tennis dual on Friday.

The dual was moved indoors to Watertown High School because of the wet weather.

Washington won five of the six singles matches and also swept the three doubles matches.

Evan Meester notched a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 3 singles for the Arrows, who slipped to 5-3 on the season.

The Arrows are scheduled to play triangulars on Monday at Sioux Falls (O’Gorman and Harrisburg) and Tuesday at Brandon (Brandon Valley and Sioux Falls Christian).

Singles — Clayton Poppenga, SFW, def. Mark Mahowald 6-1, 6-0; Davis Shafer, SFW, def. Curtis Sneden 6-3, 6-0; Evan Meester, W, def. Owen Boyd 6-3, 6-3; Chase Rima, SFW, def. Justin Remmers 6-1, 6-0; Jacob Morgans, SFW, def. Jadon Lindner 6-4, 6-0; and Harold Mayer, SFW, def. Zandar Binde 6-0, 6-1.

Doubles — Poppenga-Shafer, SFW, def. Mahowald-Sneden 6-3, 6-2; Noah-Jacob Morgans, SFW, def. Meester-Reemers 6-0, 6-1; and Rima-Mayer, SFW, def. Lindner-Binde 6-3, 6-0.
