Boys tennis: Watertown turns back Huron; Milbank splits duals

HURON — Watertown cruised to a 7-2 indoor dual victory over Huron in high school boys tennis on Thursday.

The Arrows (2-1 on the season) won five of the six singles and two of the three doubles matches.

"I though the guys played some good tennis today," said Watertown head coach Ryan Zink. "The surface we played on was a little quicker than what we've practiced on, but overall we played well."

The Arrow returnees Curtis Sneden, Mark Mahowald, Evan Meester and Justin Remmers all won singles matches and also won in doubles (Sneden-Mahowald at No.1 and Meester-Remmers at No. 2.).

Joey Meester won at No. 6 singles and the No. 3 doubles team of Tyler Dingsor and Sam Karst lost a close match.

Watertown is scheduled to play outside on Tuesday in a triangular at Sioux Falls Jefferson. Milbank will also be in the event.

Milbank splits two duals

YANKTON — Milbank fell to Yankton 9-0 and topped Vermillion 7-2 in a high school boys tennis triangular on Thursday.
