Boz Scaggs, whose musical journey dates back half a century and shows no signs of ebbing, will be in concert at 7 p.m. June 3 at the Sand Mountain Park and Amphitheater in Albertville.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at https://bit.ly/3Iwjw2g.

Scaggs has three platinum-certified albums on his résumé, most notably 1976’s “Silk Degrees,” which earned platinum status five times over, reached No. 2 on the Billboard Top 200 albums list and remained on the chart for more than two years.

The musicians backing Scaggs on that album later formed the group Toto.

The album’s top single, “Lowdown,” reached No. 3 on the Billboard Top 100 and earned Scaggs a Grammy Award for Best Rhythm and Blues Song.

Three other singles from the album — “Lido Shuffle,” “It’s Over” and “What Can I Say” — made the charts for Scaggs. Rita Coolidge's cover version of “We’re All Alone” reached No. 1 on the Adult Contemporary chart, No. 7 on the Pop chart and No. 68 on the Country chart.

“Silk Degrees” also received Grammy nominations for Album of the Year and Best LP Package, and for Joe Wissert as Producer of the Year; and “Lowdown” was nominated for Best Male Pop and Best Male R&B Performance.

The albums “Down Two Then Left” in 1977 and “Middle Man” in 1980 also reached platinum status, with the latter yielding the Top 40 singles “Breakdown Dead Ahead” and “Jojo.”

Scaggs has released 19 albums to date, with his last two offerings, 2015’s “A Fool to Care” and 2018’s “Out of the Blues” reaching No. 1 on the Top Blues Albums chart. He also had a No. 1 Jazz album with 2008’s “But Beautiful,” a collection of jazz standards.

A native of Ohio, Scaggs’ family moved to Texas when he was a child, where he became friends with Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Steve Miller, who taught him how to play guitar. Scaggs later joined the Steve Miller Band and appeared on two albums.

Reserved seat tickets are $59, $74 and $89.
