BPD: Man assaults grocery store employee

Jan. 11—A man assaulted an employee at a Smart and Final on Mount Vernon Avenue around 9:30 p.m. Jan. 5, and the Bakersfield Police Department is looking for him.

The agency said the man left the store and lingered outside before going back inside to assault an employee. BPD is currently looking for the man and describes him as a heavy-built Hispanic man in his 20s to 30s about 5 feet, 8 inches tall with a beard.
