BPS goes back to class Aug. 11

On August 11, it will be my pleasure to welcome over 6,000 new and returning students to thedistrict.

I hope the summer went well for your family with plenty of time to rest and recharge fora productive year at Bartlesville Public Schools.

If new students to the district have difficulty with online enrollment, please call the EducationService Center at 918-336-8600 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday-Thursday to schedule anappointment with Jennifer Turner, who will assist you.

Central's transition camp for incoming 6th graders is August 3 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.Families can stay and meet with teachers until 4:00 p.m. Students may sign up for transitioncamp at the CMS registration on July 27 and 28.

Madison Connection Camp for incoming 6th graders is July 27-29. The cost is $10 and thereare some spots still available. More detailed information and the signup form can be found atmms.bps-ok.org/o/mms/article/755632.

Bruin Camp for incoming freshmen will be Friday, August 5th with registration being from 2 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. (there is no pre-registration).

There will be bus pick up at: Ranch Heights, Oak Park, Jane Phillips, and Wilson at 1:40 p.m.; Brookbury Lane & Aspen at 1:45 p.m.; Virginia & Cudahy, 20th & Osage, and Wayside at 1:45 p.m.; Frank Phillips & Fleetwood at 1:50 p.m.; and Central at 1:55 p.m.

Bruin Camp will end at 6 p.m. This year we are encouraging parents to meet us in the auditorium early at 5:30 p.m. if available. At this time we will go over "Parent 101" with a brief explanation of PowerSchool, Canvas, BHS communication, P3Tips/safety and to help put a familiar face to the BHS staff.en

Parents of students who are new to the district must first complete enrollment forms online and ALL parents, of both new and returning students, must set up a PowerSchool Parent Portal. All enrollment information can be found atbps-ok.org/page/enrollment.

● Bartlesville High School freshmen must come to BHS on August 4 to pick up their Chromebooks, but the rest of enrollment and registration for grades 9-12 can be handled online. Signup for freshmen registration and enrollment information for BHS can be found at bhs.bps-ok.org/o/bhs/article/786500.

Elementary open house is August 9 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Kane and Wilson parents please be on the lookout for updated drop off procedures from your principal because of construction.

Bartlesville High School junior and basketball guard David Castillo represented Bartlesville on the world stage this month. He is now a two-time gold medalist as Team USA beat Spain for FIBA U17 World Cup title.

Congratulations also goes to BHS Junior Griffin Craig for being named High School All-American for swimming.
