Bracket City: FanDuel launching three-day music festival in Nashville during March Madness

Music City? More like Bracket City.

Popular sports betting platform FanDuel wants to bring a three-day music festival and college hoops spectacle to downtown Nashville this March, according to a Tuesday news release. Called "Bracket City Live," the event takes over Nashville's bustling Lower Broadway nightlife district March 16-18, 2023, coinciding with the first weekend of next year's men's basketball NCAA Tournament.

Free and open to the public, artists plan to perform on two outdoor stages in downtown - including one near the riverfront. Hoops fans and sports bettors can expect viewing parties throughout festival grounds that include unspecified opportunities "to engage in the action of college basketball," the release said.

A lineup should be announced in the coming weeks; VIP "exclusive experience" ticket packages can be purchased via bracketcitylive.com.

Populous, a major event and design firm with experience including the Super Bowl and Olympics, produces the event with support from Nashville Convention and Visitors Corp.

“We know visitors love to come to Nashville for live music and they love to come for sports, so putting music and sports together is a winning combination for us,” Deana Ivey, president of the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp, said in media statement. “We are excited to introduce a brand-new festival on legendary Lower Broadway to a national audience and for Nashville to benefit from the marketing and TV exposure as we continue to become known as a world-class event city.”
