Bracket City Live: Plug pulled on three-day March Madness music festival in Nashville

Bracket City Live — a free three-day music festival planned for downtown Nashville — will no longer take place this March, according to the event website.

The 2023 event "has been canceled," according to a one-sentence statement on bracketcitylive.com.

Sponsored by popular sports betting platform FanDuel, the free festival planned to take place March 16-18, coinciding with the first weekend of the 2023 men's basketball NCAA Tournament. Populous, an event and design firm with experience including the Super Bowl and Olympics, planned to produce the event with support from Nashville Convention and Visitors Corp.

For the now-axed event, organizers wanted to bring two outdoor stages, viewing parties and sports betting opportunities to Lower Broadway, downtown Nashville's nightlife and tourism district. While free, the event offered VIP packages for purchase.

On Monday afternoon, organizers confirmed the cancelation but declined to comment further.
