Brad Paisley hasn't given up on TV.

One month after the Country Music Association announced that the Grammy-winning singer and songwriter would not be hosting this year's CMA Awards (and fans totally freaked out), news broke that Brad is getting his own television show.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 46-year-old is going to star in an upcoming series called Fish Out of Water. Apparently, multiple outlets and streaming services were eager to air the new comedy, which Brad will also executive produce alongside his manager Bill Simmons, actor Will Arnett, and several others. In the end, Amazon won the bidding war and secured a script commitment.

Fish Out of Water, which is slated for thirty-minute, sitcom-style episodes, will offer a behind-the-scenes look at celebrity vanity projects, focusing on Brad's character's "struggle to keep a simple little fishing show from turning into his own personal Fyre Festival."

We're not exactly sure what it will entail, but if Brad is involved, it's definitely going to be a hit.

While the longtime CMA host is best known for cracking jokes on stage with Carrie Underwood, Fish Out of Water won't be his first scripted television endeavor. The rookie actor has guest starred on a number of series including The Crazy Ones, According to Jim, King of the Hill and Nashville.
