Bradenton pedestrian killed in two-car crash, officials say

A 59-year-old pedestrian was killed after getting hit by two oncoming cars Monday evening.

The crash happened at 9:02 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 41 and 51st Avenue Drive West, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

An SUV and sedan were traveling south on U.S. 41 when the man attempted to cross the southbound lanes of U.S. 41, south of 51st Avenue Drive West.

Following an initial collision with the SUV, the man was hit a second time by the sedan. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

FHP officials continue to investigate the crash.
