Bradley, Mills take home special Division III All-Northwest District football honors

FINDLAY — He finished the season with 113 tackles, 9.5 sacks, 22 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and a blocked point-after attempt.

It's a wonder how Mansfield Senior's Mekhi Bradley had any energy to stand by the end of the season. But, the senior stood tall, taller than the rest of the Division III All-Northwest District defensive players, as he was named the Division III Northwest District co-Defensive Player of the Year, sharing the honor with Connor Meckstroh of Wapakoneta.

Fellow senior Ricky Mills was named the Division III Northwest District Lineman of the Year after the defensive tackle recorded an amazing 96 tackles, 6.5 sacks, 26.5 tackles for loss, three fumble recoveries and an interception.

Bradley and Mills headlined 13 Tygers who took home All-Northwest District honors. Senior Keontez Bradley was a first-team wide receiver, junior Ahmaan Thomas was a first-team offensive lineman, Duke Reese earned first-team honors at quarterback and Sean Putt was a first-team kicker to round out the offensive honorees.

On defense, Mills and Bradley were first teamers along with Amarr Davis at defensive back. Davis finished the season with nine interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown.

Leo Hess was a second-team selection at linebacker while Aaron Thornton, Zyion Brown, Nake Dismuke, Elias Owens and Symirr Phillips were honorable mention.

Ontario put 11 players on the All-Northwest District teams in Division III, headlined by first-team defensive lineman Bralen Boone. He finished the year with 60 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, six sacks, two fumble recoveries, two forced fumbles and six blocked kicks.

Junior Chase Studer was a second-team linebacker while senior Braxton Hall was a second-team punter. Trey Booker, Bodpegn Miller, Quinton Frankhouse, Grason Bias, Drew Yetter, Dylan Floyd, Brayden Robinson and Jon Mounts were all honorable mention.

Lexington placed eight on the All-Northwest District teams. Freshman wide receiver Brayden Fogle was a second team selection along with senior kicker AJ Young. Bryer Miller, Aedan Nicol, Cater Newman, Cam Crago, Matt Dwyer and Mason Green were honorable mention.

Mansfield Senior coach Chioke Bradley was the Division III Northwest District co-Coach of the Year along with Brennen Bader of Celina. Bradley just completed his 13th season at the helm of his alma mater, where he owns a career record of 92-50. It was the third consecutive season of a playoff berth and for just the second time in program history the Tygers won two or more playoff games in a season.
