Bradshaw Animal Shelter hosts ‘Doggy Day Out’ event

Some of us are feeling isolated in the pandemic, and it’s not just humans. “Man’s best friend” needs some companionship too, and thats where the Bradshaw Animal Shelter comes in. They’re hosting a program called Doggy Day Out. Volunteers fill out an application and the shelter matches them with a dog. Then, volunteers pick up the pup in the morning and spend all day with it. The shelter says participants are also showing the dogs off on social media. “Most of them are placing the dogs on Facebook, showing them out and about, fetching, cuddling on the couch, whatever it is, and that is actually helping to get our dogs adopted,” said Delyse Gannaway, with Sacramento Shelter Pets Alive. Three pets have already been adopted, thanks to online promotion from participants.
