Brady Bulldogs win two pool games at state 7-on-7 football tourney

Brady won two games Thursday during pool play at the 2022 Texas 7-on-7 State Tournament Thursday at Veterans Park in College Station.

Brady opened with a 20-14 loss to Harmony but beat Marlin 26-21 and Poth 26-16 to finish Pool C with a 2-1 record. Harmony beat Poth but fell to Marlin to tie with Brady. Poth and Marlin each finished 1-2.

San Angelo TLCA fell to Gunter 41-25 and Flatonia 6-0 before rebounding with a 20-6 win over Dawson in its first appearance at the state tourney. Gunter finished pool play 3-0 while Flatonia was 2-1. Dawson finished 0-3.

Miles opened with a 14-7 loss to Stratford. The Bulldogs rebounded with a 35-18 win over Garrison but fell 20-18 to Lexington in the third game.

Lexington and Stratford each finished 2-1 in pool play while Miles and Garrison were 1-2.

All teams advance to the single-elimination championship bracket on Friday, starting at 8 a.m.

San Angelo Central competes in Division I on Friday starting at 1 p.m. with consolation and championship brackets contested on Saturday.
