Brandon Sosna, a Sycamore High School graduate and former chief revenue officer for the Cincinnati Bearcats, left the University of Southern California Trojans last week for the NFL's Detroit Lions, Lions head coach Dan Campbell confirmed.

ESPN's Pete Thamel reported last week that Sosna - Southern Cal's executive senior associate athletic director - is the Lions' senior director of football administration, adding that USC "made a significant push to keep him."

Sosna came to USC in 2019 with athletic director Mike Bohn from Cincinnati, becoming the Trojans' chief of staff for athletics. In a tweet announcing his move, Sosna called his final year at the University of Cincinnati "the most professionally fulfilling and fun year of my life."

Last November, Bohn called Sosna the architect of SC's search that landed head football coach Lincoln Riley. He was named to Forbes' "30 Under 30 2020: Sports."

Sosna was UC's chief of staff when Luke Fickell was hired as the Bearcats' head coach in Dec. 2016. He left UC in Aug. 2017 to join the Cleveland Browns and became a salary cap and contract analyst, but returned to the Bearcats in Feb. 2019.

Sosna worked in Cleveland with John Dorsey, then the general manager of the Browns and now a senior personnel executive for the Lions.

Sosna reportedly first interviewed last August with the Lions, which finished last season 3-13-1.
