Braves-Obsessed Grandma Overwhelmed by Gift of World Series Tickets

One baseball-loving grandma was in for the surprise of a lifetime when her family decided to gift her World Series tickets for her 85th birthday last month.

Maryann Evans has been a huge Atlanta Braves fan for as long as her grandchildren can remember, making sure to watch every game and even recording them so she can rewatch them at later dates.

When it came time to shop for Maryann’s 85th birthday, her family quickly decided that there would be no better way to celebrate her than to take her to game 5 of the World Series so she could watch her favorite team get closer to a championship.

This video shows Maryann the moment her family gives her the tickets on the morning of her birthday. She breaks into tears and thanks them all over and over again as they wish her a happy birthday.

“My grandma has been an avid Braves fan for as long as I can remember,” Evans’s granddaughter Olivia Dooley told Storyful. “We’re very close with her so we wanted to do something special to celebrate her 85th birthday,” she said.
