Braves reschedule fireworks for Thursday

Jul. 5—The Atlanta Braves announced that their Independence Day fireworks show has been rescheduled for Thursday.

Monday's fireworks display was canceled after a more than 2 1/2 hour rain delay during the series opener against the St. Louis Cardinals.

The rescheduled fireworks will be the final of three promotional events during the series against the St. Louis Cardinals. Tuesday will feature an All-Star finalist poster giveaway, followed by a Brian Snitker World Series Trophy bobblehead giveaway on Wednesday.

Thursday's game is expected to feature a pair of rookie pitchers, with breakout rookie Spencer Strider set to take on St. Louis' Matthew Liberatore. Strider matched a career-high 11 strikeouts in six innings against the Cincinnati Reds in his last outing last week.
