Heading to the Braves game today? Here’s how hot it could get based on where you sit

It will be another scorcher when the Braves take the field at Truist Park for Thursday’s series finale with the San Francisco Giants.

The team though will have precautions in place to help fans beat the heat as they cheer on the Braves.

The Braves have set up two hydration stations with complimentary cups of water as guests enter at the Chophouse gate and third base gate. The stations will be outside the ballpark until first pitch.

After 12:20 p.m., stations will move inside the ballpark near left field gate.

Inside the ballpark, cooling stations will be located at the first and third base elevator lobbies on the lower level.

Fans are allowed to bring in sealed plastic water bottles and empty plastic water bottles. Umbrellas are OK as long as they don’t block other fans’ view of the game.

First pitch is set Thursday for 12:20 p.m. and the Braves are used to playing in the hot summer days.

But after Atlanta tied a record high Wednesday, some areas could see near-record heat again Thursday.

Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Brian Monahan says the highs will be in the lower 90s at first pitch and up to 95 degrees by the end of the game.

On the field, Monahan says the grass temperatures could reach up to 105 degrees for the players.

Lot of Truist Park has seats with the covering, but if your seats are in the sun, Monahan says plastic seats could get up to 200 degrees on the surface.

“Be careful before you sit down. Water, that can cool the seats quickly. You can cover them with some clothing, a cushion, something like that to ease that heat,” he said.
