Part of the allure of shows like The Great British Baking Show is that the chefs and bakers who compete are just like you and me. OK, they're arguably a lot more talented in the kitchen, but they're not classically trained in the culinary arts. If this kind of show is your jam, you'll psyched to know that Top Chef is expanding its programming to include a new spin-off just for home chefs.

Bravo announced this week that it would soon be filming a new show called Top Chef Amateurs. The show will be hosted by Top Chef judge Gail Simmons and will feature home cooks taking on some of the best challenges from the show's history. It will also feature appearances by all sorts of former Top Chef contestants including Eric Adjepong, Richard Blais, Shirley Chung, and Isaac Toups.

Fans can also choose which of two iconic Top Chef challenges will make it to Top Chef Amateurs. Either the Seven Deadly Sins Challenge (which features chefs making a seven-course meal based on the seven deadly sins), or the Aphrodisiac Challenge, where home chefs will craft their menus with ingredients that have been called aphrodisiacs, will be chosen. Cast your vote via Twitter by using the hashtag #TopChefSeven or #TopChefAphrodisiac from now until tomorrow, Friday, October 23.

If you're more into watching the pros at work, never fear: Bravo also confirmed in a post about the new series that classic Top Chef is already filming in Portland, so we can expect that soon too.
