Bravo! Nader, Italian Restaurant In Huntington, Shutting Down

HUNTINGTON, NY — Bravo! Nader, an Italian restaurant in Huntington, will shut down as a result of the coronavirus outbreak. The news was broke by Huntington Now.

Restaurateur Nader Gebrin made the announcement Friday morning on Facebook. He arrived at the decision to cease operating the restaurant on Mother's Day, he said.

"It's a tough decision for me to close a successful business," he said. "With everything against me, it's very hard."

Lower-rent negotiations fell through, and the coronavirus outbreak prevented Gebrin from running the restaurant the way he'd like, as the excitement and energy in the dining room was sorely missed.

"My passion is gone," he said. "I still love what I do, but as an operator for a restaurant, I will not be doing that anymore. Nothing lasts forever. I thank you, God, for everything that was given to me and every success that you've given me."

Gebrin will continue to cook, however. He plans to continue doing private parties and teaching people how to cook in their own homes. He said he'd make it work, whether it's a party of two, three or five. He said he'd wear a mask and joked he'd bring some scotch to kill all the bacteria.

"There's always something to give you my knowledge and my passion, which I have a lot for food," he said. "So I'm going to share that with you. But owning a restaurant? That's a tough one. Tough one to own a restaurant, operate under those circumstances and expect to make a living. No, thank you. The energy is not going to be the same."

Gebrin encouraged those interested to follow his Facebook page and contact him there, as the restaurant's Facebook page will no longer be updated.

Bravo! Nader was at 9 Union Place, Huntington.
