According to the article, the Brazilian delegation was "nervous" after hearing that Zelenskyy was about to arrive at the summit. The Ukrainian president then requested a meeting with every participant. While Indian PM Narendra Modi, who also maintains a neutral position on Russia's war against Ukraine, agreed to meet with Zelenskyy, da Silva refused, citing a busy schedule.

During one of the meetings involving Zelensky, da Silva "not only did not approach him but also felt somewhat awkward being in the same room with him." The Brazilian president sat at the table, did not look up, and "was busy with papers," as nearly every other world leader in the room approached Zelesnkyy to exchange a few words.

G7 leaders reportedly tried to convince da Silva to talk to the Ukrainian president, to no avail.

"This makes the West doubt the possible neutrality of Lula da Silva regarding Russia's invasion," the report reads.
