Cornerstone VNA achieves We Honor Veterans Partner Level 5

ROCHESTER — Cornerstone VNA, a nonprofit home health and hospice care provider, announced that their Hospice Care program has achieved Level 5 status with the We Honor Veterans program. This is the highest recognition level of this important program.  This special recognition reflects Cornerstone VNA’s deep commitment to ensuring veterans have access to quality end-of-life care.

According to We Honor Veterans, Cornerstone VNA is the only partner agency that has achieved Level 5 status in New Hampshire, Maine and Vermont. Maureen E. Steer MDiv, Holistic Disciplines Manager at Cornerstone VNA notes, “This honor is a reflection of the hard work that the entire team puts into ensuring our veterans are given the best level of care possible.”

Community Action Partnership of Strafford County hosting annual breakfast fundraiser

LEE — Community Action Partnership of Strafford County will host their 57thAnnual Meeting from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 17, at Flag Hill Distillery and Winery in Lee.

The event is a breakfast fundraiser that brings together community members, partners, and leaders for a celebration of CAPSC’s accomplishments over the last year and the accomplishments we have made together as a community.

They will also announce the winners of their prestigious annual awards: the Mission Award, which honors an outstanding CAPSC staff member; and the Champion Award, which recognizes an impactful community partner, organization, or individual.

This year’s keynote speaker is Haydin Simmons, New Hampshire’s 2023 Kid Governor. The Kid Governor Program is a statewide civics program for Granite State students. Haydin, 11, a student at Pollard Elementary School in Plaistow, was elected by her peers after running on a platform of ending poverty and hunger in New Hampshire.

Waypoint Maine prepares for Tele-Fest

SANFORD, Maine — On May 20, Waypoint Maine will host its annual Tele-Fest to raise funds for children with autism, intellectual/developmental, and other disabilities. Funds raised at the Tele-Fest will benefit Waypoint’s children’s programs, including educational and adjunct therapies provided to children Pre-K to Grade 5 at Fraser Ford School in Sanford. Our children’s services include case management, BCBA services and family support through our Behavioral Health Home to help children thrive and meet their full potential.

Tele-Fest will be held on Saturday, May 20, from 12 to 4 p.m., at 5 Dunaway Drive in Sanford, at Waypoint’s historic waterfront. The event will have numerous activities, including family entertainment, food trucks with Bubba Frye’s specialty foods, a beer and wine garden, live local bands, gift baskets, and other high-end goods available for purchase, including furniture from Landry’s, Central Furniture, numerous gift certificates and raffle purchases for an Old Town Canoe with paddle, Old Town Heron 9 Kayak & paddle, Cricut Explore 3 Bundle, $250 Visa Gift Card and more.
