Breckenridge woman found dead from gunshot wound, investigation underway

BRECKENRIDGE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – Police are searching for answers after a woman was found dead from a gunshot wound in Breckenridge this weekend.

Shalon Wilson, 47, was found deceased from a gunshot wound in the backyard of a residence on the 400 block of North Parks Street around 10:00 p.m. Sunday, according to a press release from the Breckenridge Police Department.

Police say they received a phone call from her father, then first responders found her dead.

Her body has been sent to the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy, and an investigation into her death is now underway.
