Breeze Airways marks milestone with fare sale and new route from CT airport

Breeze Airways — the start-up, low-cost carrier that launched in 2021 — is marking two major milestones in its growth by offering 20% off all roundtrip base fares for flights booked by the end of Wednesday for travel between March 6 and Sept. 3.

To qualify for the 20% promotional fare, those seeking to book roundtrip tickets must use the “A220” promotional code.

In addition, Breeze announced Tuesday that it will add non-stop service from Bradley International Airport to Coastal Carolina Regional Airport in New Bern, NC, beginning May 24. The addition of the non-stop route will mark the 50th destination in Breeze’s overall flight offerings. Breeze will now offer 19 nonstop destinations from Bradley.

The service to New Bern will be seasonal, starting Friday and Monday of the Memorial Day weekend and then, Thursdays and Sundays. A one-way, base fare promotion of $49 must be purchased between Tuesday and Monday, Feb. 26, for travel by Sept. 3.

The prices include taxes and government fees, but fare prices, fare classes, rules, routes and schedules are subject to change or exemption without notice.

In addition to the adding its 50th destination, Breeze said it will purchase 10 Airbus A220s to expand its fleet to 32 by the end of 2024. Marketed for its tall ceilings and wide aisles, the A220s, powered by Pratt & Whitney engines, are also known for fuel efficiency and cutting down on emissions.

In addition to New Bern, Breeze will add previously-announced seasonal service in May to Cincinnati, OH; Myrtle Beach, SC and Greenville-Spartanburg, SC.
