Breezy, humid Wednesday evening in the 80s
Day 2 of the Houston Livestock Show And Rodeo has been filled with more near record heat for SE Texas. Temperatures have soared to the middle 80s with one more warm day expected Thursday before big changes arrive. Strong cold front moves through between 7 PM and Midnight Thursday bringing a round of showers and storms to SE Texas. Best chance for Houston will be from 8-11 PM with isolated severe storms possible. Damaging winds of 60-70 mph will be the main threat but an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out. Brief heavy rain & hail may occur as well. Houston remains in a Category 2 out of 5 risk for severe storms Thursday PM so stay alert! That front will bring near perfect rodeo weather for the weekend with pleasant & dry conditions Friday through Sunday. Get ready for another heat wave next week as 80s are set to return by Monday!
