Breezy and warmer weather expected in Arizona for Presidents Day weekend

With Presidents Day around the corner, the Valley can expect a weekend of warmer temperatures with some wind gusts in the metro Phoenix area.

"As we go over the next few days, temperatures will start to warm up gradually," said Ryan Worley, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Phoenix.

Thursday started off with chilly weather with a low of 35 degrees. Phoenix is forecasted to warm up throughout the day and rise to a high in the low 60s. Worley said Friday's temperatures are expected to be in the upper 60s but will be "a little breezy."

"We might see some wind gusts 25 to 30 miles an hour around the region," said Worley.

By Saturday, Phoenix will see sunny temperatures in the mid-70s with winds calming down. A similar forecast is expected for Sunday.

Tucson weather expected to bounce around

For Thursday's weather, NWS is forecasting the Tucson area to have a low of 23 in the morning and a high of 56 with sunny skies by the afternoon. The sunny skies will quickly turn into windy weather by Friday, with a high of 63.

Saturday is expected to have warmer conditions with a high in the lower to mid-70s.

"We'll be above normal by Saturday, below normal until then, much below today," said Gary Zell, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Tucson.

Thursday and Friday will have colder than normal temperatures, but Saturday is expected to have normal temperatures and Sunday will be above normal.

Zell said by Sunday it will be mostly cloudy skies with temperatures in the low 70s.

Windy weather expected for Flagstaff weekend

Thursday is said to be not as cold and mostly sunny according to NWS. Temperatures are expected to be a high of 29 degrees as wind gusts will pick up to 30 miles per hour by the afternoon.

Cloudy weather continues in Flagstaff on Friday with a low of 12 degrees and a high of 34. It will also see winds up to 15 to 20 miles per hour.

Flagstaff continues its attempts to warn people to bundle up in the area.

Saturday can expect a cloudy morning but is forecasted to be not as cold, it will see a high of 44 degrees with winds up to 15 miles per hour. Sunday is forecasted to have similar weather.
