Brentwood Academy freshman Blades Brown repeats as Division II-AA boys golf champion

Down two shots entering the day, Brentwood Academy freshman Blades Brown rallied to beat Ensworth's Tommy Frist and repeat as the Division II-AA golf state champion on Friday.

Brown shot 7-under in the second round and finished 10-under (134) over the two-day tournament at the Sevierville Golf Club. He bogeyed just one hole on Friday and birdied eight times.

Frist shot 2-under for the second round and finished in second place at 7-under. He led Ensworth to the Division II-AA team title, its first since 2019. The Tigers shot 572 (4-under) for the tournament to beat McCallie by 10 shots.

Ensworth also won the girls state title shooting 297 (17-over) to edge Baylor by five shots. The team championship is the first for the Lady Tigers since 2011.

St. Agnes' Anna Heck won the Division II-AA girls tournament with a 2-over 142. Heck is the younger sister of former St. Agnes star Rachel Heck, who won four straight state tournaments. Father Ryan's Reagan Robinson was second, shooting 4-over (144).

Collierville won the Division I, Class AA boys team title with a 7-over 583. Page finished runner-up at 11-over.

Dickson County junior Jackson Herrington won his first state title after back-to-back top-five finishes. Herrington, who was runner-up as a freshman, shot 1-under on Friday and 6-under (134) for the tournament. Greenbrier's Tyler Williamson finished second shooting 2-under.

Cookeville's girls team made history winning its first state title since 1999. The Lady Cavaliers cruised to the Division I, Class AA team title shooting 294 (14-over) for the tournament and beating second-place Ravenwood by 16 shots.

Houston's Sophie Christopher shot 3-under to win the individual title. Warren County's Lauren Slatton was second at 1-over. Cookeville's Daniella Pryor finished third shooting 4-over (144) and teammate Lexus Julian finished tied for fourth with Franklin's Sophia Dipaolo shooting 10-over (150).
