Brentwood Mayor recognizes first responders for saving 2 people from apartment fire

The Brentwood Mayor presented a proclamation of meritorious service to first responders on Monday night, two months after a fire in an apartment building.

The fire broke out on Dec. 21 at an apartment building on Brentwood Avenue.

The first responders were recognized by the mayor for preventing loss of life.

“We really appreciate everybody coming out, the Brentwood Borough Council recognizing all our work we did that night,” said first responder Robert Fialkovich. “Especially the guys that actually did the save, they actually saved a female victim who was in the structure.”

At last check, the cause of the fire has not been released.

No other injuries were reported in the blaze.
