Breonna Taylor protests extend into third night

A third night of protests across several U.S. cities Friday as demonstrators continued to voice outrage with a decision not to charge police officers in the death of Breonna Taylor.

The 26-year old emergency medical technician was killed in March by police after a botched raid on her home.

In Taylor’s, home city of Louisville, Kentucky, peaceful demonstrators defied a city-wide curfew.

Earlier in the day, Taylor family lawyer Benjamin Crump demanded more transparency from Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron.

“We are standing here today, united in solidarity, declaring and demanding that he release the transcripts of the grand jury proceeding so we can know if there was anybody giving a voice to Breonna Taylor.”

Protesters gave their voice to Taylor, chanting her name late into the night in many cities, as well as calling for police reform and accountability.

In Sacramento, California, demonstrators took their message directly to the California Highway Patrol.

“We are tired of you killing us. We are tired of you injuring us, shooting us…everything.”

A theme echoed throughout Friday night’s protests, which were largely peaceful.

“Why are you in riot gear. Why are you in riot gear?"

Taylor’s death and the decision not to charge the police have become the latest flashpoint in months of protests over racial injustice across America.
