Oct. 11—CORBIN — Expect "Nothin' but a Good Time" this Friday as Bret Michaels brings his Parti-Gras 2023 tour to The Corbin Arena.

The show promises to be a modern-day throwback to the epic energy of 1980s hair bands.

As the front man for Poison, Michaels has sold over 50 million albums worldwide and is known for hits including "Nothin' But a Good Time," "Talk Dirty to Me," and the chart-topping power ballad "Every Rose Has Its Thorn."

The rocker parlayed that success into several solo albums as well as television fame, starting with the VH1 reality hit "Rock of Love."

Originally scheduled to play in late July, the concert was pushed back to this month due as Michaels recovered from a brief illness.

Special guests Jefferson Starship remains on the bill with more rockin' reinforcement coming from Sugar Ray's Mark McGrath and Journey's Steve Augeri.

Jefferson Starship is the latest iteration of the group that got its start in the 1960s as Jefferson Airplane with hits like "White Rabbit" and "Somebody to Love." The band's lineup has changed significantly over the years, performing as Jefferson Starship from 1974 to 1984 ("Miracles," "Jane," "Runaway," and "Count on Me"), then as Starship in the late '80s ("Sara" and "We Built This City") before reviving the Jefferson Starship moniker in 1992.

With just a 30-minute set and three distinct eras to pull from, vocalist Cathy Richardson told The Times-Tribune back in July that the hardest part of performing is deciding which songs from the band's iconic repertoire will have to be cut.

"Every song is great," she said. "I love playing them all."

McGrath found fame with Sugar Ray in 1997 with the release of singles like "Fly," "When It's Over," "Someday" and "Every Morning." He's also well known as a TV host on shows like Extra.

While Journey's chart-topping heyday was in the 1980s, Augeri served as lead singer from 1998 to 2006.

Parti-Gras 2023 starts at 7:30 p.m. Friday night. Ticket are still available through The Arena's box office, 606-258-2020.
