The playoffs have arrived for high school spring sports in Brevard County, and the area will be crowded all week with local tournaments from Titusville in the north to as far south as Melbourne's Fee Avenue Park.

Postseason events for lacrosse and tennis begin Monday in Florida with district tournament competition. The Cape Coast Conference track and field meet is Friday at Satellite High.

Edgewood is the host school for District 7-1A tennis over two days at Fee Avenue Park, beginning at 9 a.m. Monday. Astronaut hosts District 8-2A tennis at Singleton Courts in Titusville, Tuesday and Wednesday. Class 3A and 4A tennis programs will play in Okeechobee and Port St. Lucie.

Area lacrosse teams will play at six spots inside the county, including first-round action at several home sites. For semifinals and finals, Melbourne High and Cocoa Beach host boys tournaments.

The Viera High girls face a tough District 8-2A lineup, including state powerhouse Vero Beach, last year's Class 2A runner-up, losing by one goal to Bartram Trail. The Hawks will host the 8-2A field, with the championship scheduled for Thursday at 7.

Edgewood's girls team earned the No. 1 seed in District 8-1A, though defending state champion Lake Highland Prep likely will be waiting beyond the district tournament. In addition to the postseason run, the Red Wolves could see some records set before the season ends.

Lauren Koshlap reached 200 career goals on March 23 and stands at 211 entering the postseason. She is two assists away from 200. Lindsey Angermeier hit 200 career goals on March 27 and begins the district tournament with 218. She is three goals shy of the school's season record of 87 by Chelsea Smith in 2017.
