Brevard's most expensive homes: Beach and Island life still rule in August sales

The long hot summer didn’t cool prices or buyers on the Space Coast when it comes to luxury homes.

But there was a significant price gap between the No. 1 and second most expensive homes sold in August.

These were the most expensive homes sold in Brevard County last month.

5. Malibu Lane - $2.3 Million

With 125 feet of “radical” Indian Riverfront views, this 4,233-square-foot home at 751 Malibu Lane in Indialantic features four bedrooms and three-and-a-half baths. And at $2.3 million, it was the fifth most expensive home sold in Brevard during the month of August.

If this looks familiar, it’s because it was listed in July’s most expensive. The home did not officially close until Aug. 1.

The home features a covered boat slip and a large saltwater pool. Its skylights and multiple windows and doors allow the outdoors to shine into the interior – and the open formal living/dining room provides views of the waterway and wildlife outside. The home also boasts a large brick fireplace, built-in shelving and billiards. The kitchen’s sub-zero fridge and stainless steel appliances surround a prep island with sink.

Upstairs is the owners’ retreat with a private river balcony, modern ensuite, large closet and loft.

This 3,844 square-foot home at 22 W. Point Drive in Cocoa Beach features five bedrooms and five bathrooms.

What came with the nearly $2.4 million house?

How about a 200-foot-deep water backyard with a bonus parcel of 64 feet of canal in the front yard.

Inside you’ll find the usual spaces: gourmet kitchen, two living spaces, four bedrooms, four bathrooms, laundry room and two-car garage.

Sliding into the number three spot by just $1,000 more is this 3,471-square-foot home at 3408 S. Atlantic Ave. in Cocoa Beach. The home features four bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms and direct waterfront access.

According to the MLS, this home was built with leisure, luxury and storm safety in mind. Security is the first thing you’ll notice at the gated and walled camera-secure entry.

Outside the home is low-maintenance landscaping and lighting,  a resort-style pool and hot tub, a dock with a custom entertainment area and seawall.
