Brevard's most expensive: Luxury and waterfront key to July's top priced homes sold

Luxury is apparently as hot a commodity as waterfront property on the Space Coast. And as the summer continues to sizzle, so does the Brevard housing market and the desire for some lavish accommodations with epic waterfront views.

These are the top five most expensive homes sold in Brevard County during the month of July:

5. $2,300,000 - The other Malibu

This 4,233-square-foott home features 125 feet of Indian River front views and comes in as the fifth most expensive home sold on the Space Coast in July.

While there's a lot to explore inside this four bedroom, three-and-a-half bathroom at 751 Malibu Lane in Indialantic, let's talk about those backyard amenities - like the covered boat dock with slip and the oversized saltwater pool.

The place is decked with skylights and an abundance of windows/doors to let the epic views shine through. An open formal living and dining area takes advantage of the waterfront. The family room offers a brick fireplace, billiards and backyard access. The kitchen is outfitted with a wood-paneled fridge, SS appliances, a prep island w/sink, under-mount lighting and a bay-windowed casual dining accent.

The owner's retreat upstairs has a private river balcony, modern ensuite and large closet.

4. $2,500,000 - A Tropical Manor

This 4,151-square-foot English manor house at 10480 S. Tropical Trail, Merritt Island, features four bedrooms and four-and-a-half bathrooms and comes in at number four on our most expensive homes sold in July on the Space Coast.

While Adele isn't the owner, the property does have a nod toward her Academy award-winning song. The property, affectionately known as Skyfall, sits on three-quarters of a acre that stretches from river to river. Entry into the home is found through a stone-faced vestibule that shelters a 600-pound mahogany front door. Inside the kitchen you'll find rich cherry cabinetry, two islands - one with a prep sink, and the other houses a large farmhouse sink. There's also a 48-inch Wolf range with six burners plus a griddle and double ovens. The range is flanked by pull out spice racks, and there's a commercial grade range hood. View across the kitchen is to the large eat-in area, and a wall of French doors for Banana River views.

The property, the third most expensive home sold in July, features a new salt system pool, fire pit area, and attached 3-car garage with a 520-square-foot studio.

Inside the 3,324-square-foot home, the owner's suite is highlighted by a private room with panoramic views. Additional features include a new chef's kitchen with butler's pantry, limestone tile, wood flooring, wood burning fireplace and vaulted cathedral ceilings.

2. $3,425,000 – Island life

With just under 6,000 square-feet of living space, this estate at 9900 S. Tropical Trail on Merritt Island comes in as the second most expensive home sold in Brevard during July.

Outside you’ll find a black iron electronic gate, waterway views of the Indian River, a swimming pool/spa, a well-manicured backyard, and a private boat dock. Situated on 1.12 acres, the home boasts 5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, and a 3-car garage. The front of this two-story home features covered porch, an ideal spot to watch the sunsets while sipping a glass of wine and taking in the tropical breeze. With over 100-feet of water frontage on the Indian River, this is where the island lifestyle becomes an experience. Not only is there a covered boat dock with a lift, but additionally there is a second covered lounging deck with a built-in bar, bench, and ceiling fans.

Going inside through mahogany French doors, you find the living and dining rooms. Beyond the living spaces, there is a great room that is outfitted with a built-in entertainment cabinet. With 6,082-square-feet of living space, this estate at 147 Lansing Island Drive in Indian Harbour Beach features five bedrooms and five-and-a-half bathrooms.

Sitting on a full acre in the Lansing Island gated community, the Spanish Mission style home offers direct access to the Banana River.

While the property has massive curb appeal with abundant landscaping and a private courtyard entry, it pales in comparison to what's inside. The interior featuring wood beamed ceilings, wide plank floors, marble bathrooms and custom lighting.

Each of the bedrooms has its own en suite bathroom, There's also an office, exercise and game rooms, a 4-car garage with car lift, heated pool/spa.

The kitchen features an abundance of top of the line appliances including a 60-inch fridge freezer and dual dishwashers.

The home is also built like a fortress with full concrete construction to roofline, solid poured concrete balconies, Andersen hurricane windows and doors, clay roof, copper gutters, and much more
