The Brewers new home-run cheesehead gets a workout Tuesday against the Mets

From a dugout bell to the "home run gauntlet" in the dugout to the… well, another gauntlet, the Brewers have often found unique ways to celebrate home runs at American Family Field.
This year's version has a familiar Wisconsin flair. It's a cheesehead.
The Brewers got to wear the delightful foam wedge atop their heads three times in the sixth inning Tuesday when Milwaukee went an unlikely back-to-back-to-back home-run tear against Mets ace Max Scherzer, with home runs from Rowdy Tellez, Brian Anderson and Garrett Mitchell helping the Brewers take a 5-0 lead. The accessory was first spotted in the Brewers dugout during Monday's home opener.
Anderson put the cheesehead on again when he homered again in the seventh, giving him six RBI for the game and three homers over the first two games of the series. Mitchell followed with his second homer of the game.
Haven't seen this much cheese handed out since stopping at the Carr Valley store off I-94 in Mauston. pic.twitter.com/cJyB0LdmDx

The cheesehead, of course, has been associated with Wisconsin sports for years and specifically the Green Bay Packers. It's fitting that Packers running back A.J. Dillon threw out the ceremonial first pitch on Tuesday.

But it was Brewers fan Ralph Bruno in 1987 who first invented the concept and started selling his foam creations at Brewers games.
Perhaps the franchise is reclaiming its place in Brewers history?
