Brewers' J.P. Feyereisen 'deserves more attention'

NBC Sports EDGE's D.J. Short discusses Milwaukee Brewers RP J.P. Feyereisen's season, explaining why fantasy managers should consider adding him for help with ratios, strikeouts and wins.

DJ SHORT: Where to the Brewers find these guys? After Devon Williams came out of nowhere last year to emerge as one of the game's top relievers, thanks to his magical Airbender pitch, the Brewers have a new trick up their sleeve with JP Feyereisen. Get to know that name.

Feyereisen has been a workhorse out of Milwaukee's bullpen so far this season, including 16 consecutive scoreless innings, before giving up his first run on May 9. The 28-year-old Wisconsin native never ranked as a top prospect.

He was drafted by the Indians in 2014. Eventually found his way to the Yankees organization, before the Brewers signed him prior to the 2020 season. Feyereisen didn't stand out in a small sample with the Brewers last year. But he's picked up some spin on his fastball, and his changeup has been virtually unhittable.

Now, with Josh Hader holding down the ninth inning, Feyereisen isn't going to find himself getting save chances. But he can still help with ratios and strikeout totals. And in today's game, relievers get their fair share of wins too. The Brewers' latest success story certainly deserves more attention than he's getting.
