SAN FRANCISCO – Milwaukee Brewers reliever Devin Williams said in no uncertain terms earlier this week he should be an all-star.

Apparently, the right-hander's faith in himself has been rewarded as ESPN's Jeff Passan reported Saturday night that Williams will indeed take part in the All-Star Game at Dodger Stadium as part of the National League team.

Williams, who saved the Brewers' 3-2, 10-inning win over the San Francisco Giants on Thursday, is in the midst of a career season that's seen him post a 2-0 record, 1.77 earned run average and WHIP of 1.04 with 59 strikeouts in 35 2/3 innings over 39 appearances.

He's also gone 6 for 6 in save opportunities and leads the major leagues in holds with 23.

Williams has been especially good of late, as he's unscored upon in his last 26 outings with 40 strikeouts over 24 ⅔ innings while limiting opposing batters to a .099 average.

The Brewers have three all-stars this season, with Williams joining Corbin Burnes and Josh Hader. Hader won't participate, however, as he's choosing to spend the break with his wife and newborn son.

The All-Star Game will be played on Tuesday night.
