Brian D. King to speak about local journalism, dyslexia, at Norman Library West

Nov. 4—Why does supporting local journalism matter?

What exactly goes on in the press room? What is the future of journalism? How are reporters dealing with artificial intelligence?

Brian D. King has worked at The Norman Transcript for about one year and has been in journalism for four years.

At The Norman Transcript, he covers education, politics, and general assignment stories.

In 2022, he took home the top prize at the Oklahoma Press Association for Best Education Article.

On Tuesday, Nov. 7 from 6-7 p.m., he will visit Norman Library West where he will tell his story about how he has had to overcome dyslexia, and how he became an award-winning writer and copy editor of an award-winning newspaper.
