One of the 'Bridesmaids' No More! Kristen Wiig Is Engaged to Boyfriend Avi Rothman
Kristen Wiig is engaged and has reportedly been wearing her engagement ring for months!
Wiig and her fiancé, actor Avi Rothman, first sparked dating rumors in 2016, when they were spotted together on a Hawaiian rendezvous.
Kristen Wiig is officially engaged to her longtime boyfriend, actor Avi Rothman, according to reports from TMZ.
In fact, the two have apparently been engaged for months. Wiig was first spotted sporting a diamond engagement ring during a screening of Booksmart at The Theatre at Ace Hotel in Los Angeles. Posing for a photo with Friends star Lisa Kudrow, the engagement rock is just barely visible at Wiig’s side.
It’s unsurprising that the news of Wiig and Rothman’s engagement comes months after he (or she—it’s the 21st century, after all) popped the question. The happy couple is famously private about their relationship. When they were first spotted together during a trip to Hawaii that sparked rumors of Wiig’s new “mystery man,” Rothman was hardly new. At that point, Wiig and Rothman had been seeing each other for months.
A source from People reportedly said that the Bridesmaids actress and her new beau were “secretly dating for a few months,” adding that “they’re really happy together.”
Rothman—although lesser known than his former Saturday Night Live star fiancée—has an impressive filmography to boast. He has writing and producing credits for television movies like Codependents (2014) and Partners (2007). He is also known for his roles in movies like Love, Sex and Missed Connections (2012).
Meanwhile, Wiig has also been busy making herself a household name. She’s set to costar with Cate Blanchett in Where’d You Go, Bernadette, a dramedy directed by Richard Linklater and in theaters now.
