Bridge Fire Contained for Second Consecutive Night in Placer County, California

Firefighters continued to make progress on the Bridge Fire in Placer County, California, reporting a second consecutive day of no overnight growth as the blaze was contained at 411 acres as of Wednesday, September 8, according to fire officials.

Evacuation orders and warnings have been lifted while the Auburn State Recreation Area remained closed, Cal Fire said.

Crews conducted mop up of remaining hot spots which remains a priority as hot and dry weather was expected to continue in the region for several days, according to Cal Fire.
