Bridge over GA 400 on Kimball Bridge Road closed for about a year, to be replaced with wider bridge
A widening project has forced the closing of the Kimball Bridge Road Bridge that goes over Georgia 400.
Crews are working to replace and widen the bridge as a part of the Georgia 400 Express Lanes Project.
The bridge will be closed for about a year.

The Kimball Bridge Road Bridge is one of three bridges over Georgia 400 that will be replaced and widened to accommodate the future express lanes.
The Georgia Department of Transportation says the bridges are nearly 50 years old and nearing their end of life.
The new bridges will be taller, wider structures that will feature multi-use paths and sidewalks.
Kimball Bridge Road Bridge will increase from two to four lanes with a median, a multi-use path on the north side, and a sidewalk on the south side.
