Bridgeton man charged with holding up bank in Gloucester County

FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP – A Bridgeton man is charged with a hold-up reported Tuesday at the Newfield National Bank in Malaga.

David Glenn, 30, allegedly claimed to have a gun and demanded cash, according to police.

After getting the money, he took off in a Mazda 5 headed north on Delsea Drive.

Investigators issued an alert to neighboring law enforcement agencies. The suspect was soon spotted heading north on Route 42, near Route 295.

The suspect did not stop when police attempted a motor vehicle stop. After a pursuit, the suspect crashed in the median and then ran, police said.

Multiple agencies joined forces to form a perimeter. Glenn was found and arrested without any injuries. He is charged with robbery, theft, and terroristic threats.

The charges against Glenn are allegations and he has not been convicted in this case.

Officers reported evidence was located at the scene, including cash believed to be from the bank.

Glenn was taken to the Franklin Township Police Department station and then turned over to the Salem Country Correctional Facility.

The Gloucester County Sheriff's Department and the Elk Township, Mantua Township, Deptford Township, and New Jersey State police departments assisted with the investigation.
