Bridgeton woman dies after boat overturns in Absecon Bay

ABSECON — A Bridgeton woman was killed in a boating accident the morning of Memorial Day.

Troopers from the New Jersey State Police Atlantic City station responded at 8:02 a.m. to a report of an overturned vessel in Absecon Bay. There, they recovered 56-year-old Lisa Maxey from the boat. She was dead at the scene.

According to State Police, there were four others on the boat with Maxey prior to it overturning. The incident is still under investigation.
