IN BRIEF: Chamber mixer this week

Nov. 14—The Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce (GACC) invites the community to The Lancaster Manor for the upcoming November mixer.

Attendees will get a guided tour rich with history followed by homemade appetizers and refreshments.

The November Chamber Mixer will be held at the bed and breakfast, located at 1306 E California St. in Gainesville, on Thursday, Nov. 16 from 5-7 p.m. This event is open to the public and is free to attend.

Ribbon cuttings in Valley View

The Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce (GACC) is taking a mini road trip to Valley View Friday to celebrate two Chamber members with ribbon cuttings.

The ribbon cuttings for Wanderlust Travel and ONE13 Collaborative are both set for 113 N. Lee St. in Valley View. Wanderlust Travel is scheduled to cut its ribbon at 1:30 p.m. and ONE13 Collaborative is scheduled to cut its ribbon at 2 p.m. These events are free to attend and open to the public.

DAR to host watercolor class

The Rebecca Crockett Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution is hosting a Watercolor Painting class to benefit scholarship funds for Cooke County High School Seniors. Artist Susan Edison will teach the watercolor painting class.

Everyone is invited to participate in the Nov. 18 watercolor painting class at the Era Masonic Lodge from 1 to 3 p.m.

Era Masonic Lodge, located on FM 51 (northwest corner of FM 51 and FM 922). The cost is $55 and all supplies are furnished.
