Walters' on North, 6930 W. North Ave., Wauwatosa, reopened May 10 under new ownership.

"We still have a million little things to do but the grill is on and we're ready to welcome everyone back in," the bar announced on its Facebook page.

The neighborhood bar, a stop for locals for over 50 years, closed at the end of April after its longtime owner, Butch Grbich, and manager, Jimmy Wilkinson, retired and sold the bar to Jasmine O'Brien, Robert Deiss and Christopher Trudeau.

Walters' new owners temporarily closed to "deep clean," according to the Facebook page, and make minor updates, like new floors, dartboards, menu items and a pool table.

The new owners don't plan to make any major changes to the bar.

"Everybody knows it, everybody loves it," Deiss told the Journal Sentinel last month. "We're not looking to change it, just update."

Deiss and Trudeau are also owners of Brickyard Pub, 3455 E. Layton Ave, Cudahy, according to a liquor license filed with the city of Wauwatosa.
