Unused and old medications to be collected Oct. 29

MARION — The ADAMH board will take part in the National Drug Take Back Day event at the Marion Medical Campus, 1050 Delaware Ave. (blue entrance) 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 29. Items accepted will be expired or unused medications, over-the-counter medicines, prescription drugs and pills.

By getting rid of unused, expired and unwanted prescription medications, you help contribute to the safety and well-being of the community. Pharmacies and nursing homes should contact the DEA directly to dispose of their unused medicines.

Trinity Evangelical Church to host Night to Shine Prom for people with special needs

UPPER SANDUSKY — Trinity Evangelical Church in Upper Sandusky will serve as a host of Night to Shine 2023, sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation. The prom night experience celebrating people with special needs will be held in person by host churches around the world simultaneously on Feb. 10.

Night to Shine launched in 2015. Over the past two years, it innovated and endured through the pandemic with the first-ever virtual Night to Shine, celebrating thousands of honored guests through unique adaptations including a complete virtual video experience and socially distanced Shine Thru drive-thru events.

Ohio State Bar Association launches Judicial Votes Count website

COLUMBUS — The Ohio State Bar Association is announces the launch of judicialvotescount.org, a comprehensive voter information website about Ohio’s judicial elections.

At judicialvotescount.org, Ohio voters can access quality, unbiased information about the judges who will be on their ballot in the Nov. 8 general election. Voters who visit the site can also learn about Ohio’s court system, judicial requirements and responsibilities and get important dates and other information about the upcoming election.

Judicial Votes Count was created in 2014 as a partnership between the Supreme Court of Ohio, League of Women Voters of Ohio, the Ray C. Bliss Institute of Applied Politics at the University of Akron, the Ohio News Media Association and the Ohio Association of Broadcasters. The site provides candidates with the opportunity to share their personal background information, credentials and endorsements with Ohio voters. Judicial candidates are encouraged to submit their profile information via a fillable form prior to the Nov. 8 election.
