Galion City Schools announce new administrative changes

GALION — As Galion City School District welcomes new Superintendent Dr. Jeffery Hartmann, other key administrators will transition to new roles within the district as well.

Galion Intermediate School’s Principal Jacqueline Robbeloth will transition to literacy coordinator, a district administrator role focusing on literacy. As a result of Robbeloth’s transition, Kayla Heimann, the current assistant principal of Galion Primary, will become the new principal of Galion Intermediate.

Sam Staton, the current assistant principal of Galion Middle School, will be taking on a new role as the assistant principal of Galion Primary. Julie Theodore-Murphy will become assistant principal at Galion Middle School following Staton’s move to GPS. Theodore-Murphy served for 30 years in the neighboring Crestline Exempted Village School District, working for many years as the principal of Crestline Elementary. Thereafter she decided to join the staff at Galion as a middle school teacher.

Leigh Ann Patterson will leave the Ontario Local School District to become the new assistant principal for Galion Intermediate School.

Dostal & Kirk announces new producer

Dostal & Kirk Insurance & Financial Services is growing with the addition of Alex Crall who joins the agency as a new producer.

Crall is focused on serving clients with both personal and business insurance needs. He initially joined Dostal & Kirk in May 2022 as an intern, gaining exposure to the insurance industry through producer shadowing, agency marketing initiatives, various educational tracks and networking in local communities.

Crall, a Bucyrus native, graduated in May from The Ohio State University. He has coached basketball at Wynford High School, his alma mater, for the past 6 years and has also coached in the baseball program at Wynford.

Peaches, plants and popcorn at Saturday's Farmers Market

Peaches direct from South Carolina Titan Farm orchard will again be available at the Bucyrus Farmers Market Saturday. Radishes, green onions and kale are picked fresh from the garden. There also will be organic-fed beef, pork and chicken, baked goods, homemade soaps, apple cider vinegar and popcorn.

Craft vendors will offer jewelry, wood crafts and crocheted critters. Geraniums, gerbera daisies, canna bulbs, gazanias, lavender, and herbs can still be found on vendor tables. A complete list of vendors can be found on Facebook.

The Positive Seekers will grill for a donation. Cheryl Zehner from Mansfield won the drawing for the patriotic kite made by Positive Seeker member Carolyn Shireman.

The market takes place at 2460 E. Mansfield St. in the Family Farm & Home parking lot across from Timken every Saturday from 8:30 a.m.-noon, rain or shine, until Oct. 28.
